Learning chess in Stockholm 25

In Stockholm chess is mostly taught by the clubs, in junior groups after school and sometimes in an hour of training before an adult club evening. Trojanska Hästen teaches children in Täby on Saturdays with the Dutch step method, Farsta SK, Wasa SK, SS 4 Springare, Solna-Sundbyberg SS, Kista SC KFUM and Stockholms Schacksällskap run weekday groups, and some clubs print a fee per term on their pages.

The Stockholm federation runs Schack i skolan, a free programme that trains teachers and gives schools in the county ready-made lessons, and Vi spelar ihop, a project that sets up chess corners and a course for older people. Kulturhuset holds Schacklördag workshops with instructors, SK Cirkus has run a summer camp at the Schacksalongerna, and the Svarta Hästen bar says chess lessons can be booked.
