On each of these clubs a page says in plain words that someone who is not a member may come along. Stockholms Schacksällskap writes that anyone is welcome on any Tuesday at the Schacksalongerna, though opponents can be scarce while long tournaments are running. KTH Chess Club meets in the Nymble student building on Monday evenings with no sign-up needed, and Kungstornet says a new member joins simply by turning up to a Wednesday club evening.
Outside the city, Nacka-Värmdö SK lets a non-member try a game first at its Wednesday evening in Sickla, SS Gambit Norrtälje shows newcomers the rules at Folkets Hus, and SS Delectus in Märsta says new and returning players are always welcome. Upplands Väsby SK invited anyone to Thursday training in the spring of 2025. Other clubs may well let a visitor in too, but their pages do not say so.
